Salesforce is developing Einstein, which is an artificial intelligence (AI) capability built into the core of the Salesforce Platform. Einstein helps power the world’s smartest CRM to deliver advanced AI capabilities to sales, services, and marketing teams – helping them discover new insights, predict likely outcomes to power smarter decision making, recommend next steps, and automate workflows so users can focus on building meaningful relationships with every customer.
Tech-Talk 1: Dependency injection in Apache Spark Applications
Abstract: Dependency Injection is a programming paradigm that allows for cleaner, reusable, and more easily extensible code. Though Dependency injection has existed for a while now, its use for wiring dependencies in Apache Spark applications is relatively new. In this talk, we present our adventures writing testable Spark applications with dependency injection and explain why it is different than wiring dependencies for web applications due to Spark’s unique programming model.
Shu Das is a Senior Engineer in the Signals team at SalesforceIQ.
Sandeep Prabhakar an Engineer in the Signals team at SalesforceIQ.
Tech-Talk 2: Using Apache Spark to process and enrich user communications data
Abstract: In this presentation, we will explain how we process users’ communication data (such as emails) to provide real time insights and recommended actions. Sammy will specifically discuss how we use spark to build a machine learning model for identifying pricing-related emails from CRM customers.
Speakers: Sammy Nammari is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in the Intelligence team at SalesforceIQ.
Tech-Talk 3: Arbitrary Stateful Aggregations in Structured Streaming in Apache Spark
Abstract: In this talk, we will introduce some of the new available APIs around stateful aggregation in Structured Streaming, namely flatMapGroupsWithState. We will show how this API can be used to power many complex real time workflows, including stream-to-stream joins, through live demos using Databricks and Apache Kafka.
Bio: Burak Yavuz is a Software Engineer at Databricks. He’s been contributing to Spark since Spark 1.1, and is the maintainer of Spark Packages (https://spark-packages.org,https://spark-packages.appspot.com/).
